There are certain recipes that sound intimidating until you make them for the first time. Believe it or not, for me, one of these was a simple shepherd’s pie. We didn’t grow up with it, and I rarely had tasted it, but still was intrigued by making a one-pot-meal, with meat, carbs, and a ton of vegetables all combined in one deliciously comforting pie. If You Can Make It There, You’ll Make It Anywhere
Greetings from the Big Apple. We decided to take the kids back to their birth town and boy, does it feel great to be here. Walking the old stomping grounds brings back so many good memories and makes us realize how much we miss life in the big city. Every neighborhood, ever street, every block is packed with interesting boutiques and art galleries, great restaurants and lots of inspiring young people trying to make a life here. Breakfast at Think Coffee, appetizers at Falai, burgers at Great Jones and ice cream at Grom are all part of our pilgrimage tour. The options are endless and there is so much we’ll bring back in our hearts and memories. Enjoy the week and, if you want to feel some of our New York inspiration, try this delicious Avocado Pasta from one of our old neighborhood places, Quartino. Come and Cook with Us!

Instead of pushing them to the side and making them the unwanted step-sister that has to be invited to the party, or worse, has to be hidden, let’s make it all about them. Let’s celebrate their variety, vitality and colors of the rainbow. Come and cook with us! Continue reading “Vegetable Charade”

This week, we’d like to entice you all to eat a few more sardines, probably one of the healthiest and most convenient foods on the planet! Come and cook with us! Continue reading “Simply Sardines”
