Seared Pork Chops with Sautéed Pear

Serves 4

My kids love meat and this is one of their favorite recipes. You can also use dijon mustard instead of the spices, which is what my Omi likes to do.

Ingredients:
4 pork chops, about 3 oz. each
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon spices of your choice such as cumin or coriander seeds
Salt and pepper

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450 F
Heat a cast iron skillet or other heavy, ovenproof pan over medium-high heat. Brush olive oil on pork chops and season with salt, pepper and some of your favorite spices.
Sear the chops on each side in the pan until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Then, put the skillet in the oven until the chops are cooked through.
Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Serve with sauteed pears.
