My husband’s grandmother lived to the ripe old age of 98. I always had a sweet spot for her as she had carachter and expected great things from the people around her. She also made a fantastic cranberry sauce that has become a staple in our house. What makes it even better is that it does not need precious stove-top space on the Big Day and preserves well. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Ingredients:
1 bag organic cranberries
1 organic orange
1/2 – 3/4 cup sugar
Instructions:
Cut orange in chunks, peel, pith and all, removing seeds, if any.
Using a stand mixer combine cranberries and oranges and chop until they get a fine consistency, about 2-3 minutes. Add sugar and mix some more.
Cover and refrigerate for at least a couple of hours and up to a couple of days.

this is exacty how we make our cranberry sauce – raw and delicious – but we add just a pinch of cinnamon and/or fresh ginger too.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Andrea!
What a great idea to add cinnamon and ginger, too. I will give it a try soon! Hope all is well and thank you for visiting us!
