Welcome to 2012.

Jessica and I have been traveling during the holidays, soaking up the sun, catching up with friends and family, and searching for new ideas to share with you. And new ideas we have! But first, some business: while this time of year is often dedicated to resolutions meant to make you more successful, healthier and happier, we’ve decided, instead, to put forth a challenge to you, dear reader.We believe that if you eat well, you are healthier and happier. And when you are healthier and happier, you are also more confident and successful in anything you do. This year we challenge you to take the bull by the horns and cook your way to happiness. Come and cook with us!

So what exactly is our challenge to you?  We want you to commit to cooking a certain number of meals each week, for every week of this coming year. If you have managed to cook one meal per week in the past, this year try to cook two; if you’re already cooking three, shoot for four; and, if you are an accomplished cook who manages to make every meal yourself, your challenge is to relax a little, and occasionally eat out.

We are issuing this challenge because we want you to succeed, and to keep you on track we are going to continue sending you meal ideas, recipes and helpful reminders of why you do it. But, this wouldn’t be a true challenge without something for us to do as well.  To support your effort, I am going to share with you a calendar of every weeknight dinner I make in January (Winter Meal Ideas), with links to all the recipes. We’ll be cooking alongside of you every day so if you need some inspiration, or to know you are not alone in this challenge, well then come and cook with us!
